The 800-year-old banyan tree in Mahabubnagar has been given a new lease on life thanks to the generous allocation of Rs 2 crore by a parliamentarian for its preservation

TRS Rajya Sabha MP Joginapally Santhosh Kumar has allocated Rs 2 crore from his MPLAD fund for the preservation of the 800-year-old Pillalamari banyan tree in Mahabubnagar district, Telangana, India.

Congratulating state Tourism Minister Srinivas Goud for protecting the tree “like his own children,” Kumar, who is also the Chairman of the Green India Foundation, thanked the district administration for saving the giant banyan tree. Saline drip treatment was provided to preserve the historic tree, and all of its roots were taken care of, giving it a new lease of life.

The MP emphasized the responsibility of the people to conserve the tree, which has a ѕіɡпіfісапt һіѕtoгісаɩ aspect. The Pillalamari tree, which was on the ⱱeгɡe of extіпсtіoп, is now flourishing in green, and the parliamentarian expressed his pleasure at its revival.

After inaugurating the Pillalamari junction at Mettugadda and Pillalamari crossroads, Srinivas Goud and Santhosh Kumar also took selfies.
