Describe
Adult male hemorrhoids have a body length of about 90 to 105cm, the tail alone takes up 2/3 of the overall length and weight is about 900g, the wingspan is about 70cm. This is a bird that cannot be confused with any other because of its very special plumage. It has a cluster of yellow crests on the top of its head and above its back, and a bright scarlet color below its neck and belly.
Starting from behind the ears, extending down to the neck, there is a fan shape with alternating orange and black streaks, not yet the upper back has a dark blue color with alternating black streaks. The eyes are bright yellow, and the legs and beak are both opaque yellow.
Yellow hemorrhoids have a rather long and large tail of gray-brown color with black polka dots. These tail colors are also present in the wing feathers. The female is less colorful and not as beautiful as the male, with a light brown plumage, very similar to that of pheasants. The female is darker in color and has a slimmer body than the male. With a body length of about 60 to 80cm, the bill and legs are opaque yellow.
Habitat
The primary natural habitat is dense forests, often with coniferous trees and woody trunks, under which are dense vegetation, which is thought to be a favorite environment for yellow pheasants to hide. and not easily detected by the colorful plumage.
What do golden pheasants eat?
Yellow hemorrhoids feed on the ground with food on cereals, leaves and invertebrates, berries, plants. Although they feed on the ground, at night they fly up to trees to sleep.
The flight of yellow pheasants is clumsy and relatively short, they prefer to run and spend most of the day on the ground rather than using their wings to fly. If startled, they can suddenly jump up high with distinctive sounds.
Reproduction
The breeding season usually takes place in April. Yellow hemorrhoids mother usually lays from 8 to 12 eggs, the incubation period usually lasts about 22 to 23 days.
The chicks hatch after about 12-14 days, then begin to make short flights. In the second year, the male yellow pheasant will acquire the colorful plumage of the adult bird.
